The Town Hall Tower

ListenCurator · 0:14 · AI voice

The tower is all that is left of Kraków's town hall, demolished in 1820. At its foot stands the guardhouse. On the right you can see part of the Great Weigh House, a building demolished around 1870.

Narration text

In eighteen twenty, only the granary next to the town hall was meant to go. The walls cracked, and the whole building was pulled down. The tower remained. The building on the right, the Great Weigh House, will disappear soon after this photograph.
